BACKGROUND: A 17 year-old with Zinner Syndrome presents with chronic pelvic pain. MRI revealed a cystic structure deep in the pelvis between the right side of the bladder and prostate.
METHODS: We undertook robot-assisted laparoscopic resection of the cystic structure.
RESULTS: We identified a normal right vas deferens and ampulla. Distal to ampulla, the pelvic cystic structure seen on MRI was connected to a tubular structure. Proximally, this structure ran deep to the vas and into the retroperitoneum. Final pathology was consistent with a mesonephric duct remnant.
CONCLUSIONS: At 6 months follow-up, the patient remains free of symptoms.
